The Bodmin & District Model Railway
Club was established approximately 12 years ago, when a handful of local
individuals decided to start sharing their modelling skills and experiences.
The club gradually grew in size and began the construction of a "OO" layout that
would ultimately form the basis of "Trehayn".
Trehayn is still the club`s main layout and has appeared at a number of exhibitions around the country in recent
years. The layout has undergone a great deal of rebuilding and refurbishment work during it`s life, in order to improve it`s
appearance and performance and only around 25% of the original layout is still in use.
Trehayn`s extensive fiddle yard provide storage for approximately 40 trains and
gives us the opportunity to run a wide selection of stock from the 1958 - 1962 period, the era in which we currently model.
At present we are building a new station area to replace the last
elements of the original "Trehayn". Once completed, a brand new layout will come into existance giving us even greater
operating opportunities and provide us with additional stock capacity including engine-shed facilities, with a working turntable.
